Ooze glamour and be effortlessly chic this season in animal prints - so easy to wear from night to day, go wild in these daring designs. Doing animal prints without looking like an extra from Birds of a Feather can be a tricky one, but Oasis have some of the most sought after, classy pieces.
Bermuda or Bournemouth? Skegness or the Seychelles? Wherever your getting your sun, sea and sangria this summer, it’s imperative to look the part. And choosing the right bikini it would seem, is only the tip of the ice-berg. There are sarongs, kaftans, maxi-dresses and jumpsuits to consider and that’s before you even start thinking about accessories. Sunglasses, beach-bags and the perfect pair of sandals all need to be packed in too.
The best beach style combines elegance with practicality so when choosing your sunshine essentials be sure to pay attention to both factors. Avoid heavy fabrics- light cotton dresses are great for keeping cool and will dry quickly should the sea give them a splash, and steer clear of too much embellishment, scolding yourself on a scorching hot sequin is never pleasant . A lovely sundress in an eye-catching print is a great option for layering over a bikini, or if you’re keen to keep more covered up, a maxi-dress. Add a flash of jewellery and a metallic sandal: Et voila - the perfect post-beach cocktail ensemble.
If you’ve still got room in the case after all that, pack in a few spare pairs of shades, oversized ones make a lovely style statement and its always handy to have a pair to take with you in the sea- salt-smeared lenses are not a good look.
As far as beach bags go, think the bigger the better. With all these “essentials” to squash in- you’ll certainly need the room!
Mary Portas is currently rejuvenating sales for charity shops with her “Living & Giving” campaign. Mary asked Kat Huband and Sarah Roberts from the Oasis Westfield store to ‘pop in’ and help out for the day.
Kat Huband: ‘It was a great day, so much fun!!’ They had loads of amazing products from Prada to Louboutin but the best products had to be Oasis. All the items that Oasis kindly donated were great and the customers thought so too, with half of the products being sold today and all our great bags were sold almost immediately. I would really recommend helping out in a charity shop as a fun way to meet new people and help out the world a bit. It’s all good Karma!!!!!!
Sarah Roberts ’I had an amazing day, helping customers and letting them know about the Living & Giving Experience. All the Oasis products sold amazingly and it was really great merchandising and pricing all the products. We met loads of great people including Meg Matthews and had loads of fun!!
Thanks to the not so frugal accessory designers at Chanel, the decade’s most coveted women’s watch is worth a cool £4000. In fact even on Ebay, the cheapest Chanel J12 on offer is around £2000. Lucky for those of us without a spare four thousand pounds to spend on telling the time this season, Oasis have launched their stunning new range of time pieces. And very nice they are too.
The “Ultimate Fashionably Late” was the final event in series to be held the the Oasis, Argyll Street store in London on 4th June 2009. Hello Geiger (XFM’s best unsigned band 2009) and Marina &the Diamonds are performed on the Festival Stage, Brockmans’ gin supplied the refreshments, Benefit cosmetics provided the beauty make-overs.
Pimms, pricey strawberries and grunting men in white shorts. Yep, you guessed it; Wimbledon gets into full swing today. Whether you’re lucky enough to be heading for centre-court or like me, plan on keeping up to speed with Murray’s crusade from the comfort of your living room, it’s always nice to look the part.
With the rain promising to stay away, at least for the first few days of play (touch wood!), a simple shift-dress is really all you need. The traditionally conservative dress code is still in play down at the South west London venue so stay away from anything to garish and keep dresses at a respectable length. Too much cleavage or thigh is simply not proper darling! Gentle shades of blue are a nice idea while something in white cotton will look classic and chic.
If dresses aren’t your thing, trousers are acceptable too. Just make sure they’re elegant and comfortable – you could be sitting down for quite a while! Wide leg styles are a good idea; team them with simple cami tops and a basic cardi.
Accessory wise, flat shoes are a must (pumps are best) and an oversized bag is a good idea if you fancy smuggling in some more affordable sandwiches.
When it comes to smart summer style, we’re onto a winner - let’s just hope Andy Murray is too
We spotted Matthew Hornes’ girlfriend Sybilla Findley at last nights Bruno premier looking absolutely stunning in our Black Sequin Shift.
A little sequin dress is an absolute must add to your wish list for this season. Our gorgeous dresses have just arrived in store and online, so don’t miss out!
There’s nothing quite like a bargain to put a spring in your step. Whether you are still shopping for that all important summer holiday, looking for the perfect summer dress, or perhaps just fancy treating yourself to that little something special. Look no further than the Oasis summer sale. Brimming with brilliant reductions on everything from sun dresses to sparkling clutch bags, there’s truly no better place to shop this summer.
Hitting the small beautiful island of Penang just off Malaysia’s mainland 3 girls were ready for sun, sea and a lot of shopping. A firm favourite of mine, it’s the perfect place for a relaxing time bathing in the sun with just enough shopping malls and shoe shops to make it any girls Paradise.
We spent our first morning by the beach topping up our tans in our Oasis high shine bikinis, swimming a few laps of the pool in an effort to work off the delicious Indian breakfast of roti with every combination of Masala washed down with spiced ginger teas. For a productive afternoon of shopping we headed to Little India where we were blinded by sequined saris, beaded bangles and shopped till we dropped to the beat of bollywood music. The area is a real treasure trove for hand embellished fabrics and jewellery.
After all the hard work of deciding which colour of sari to buy and carrying our numerous shopping bags we headed to Upper Penang Road for a delicious dinner at Opera a fusion of oriental and modern cuisine. I could have easily ordered everything on the menu, including all the homewares and sculptures for sale upstairs in their gallery. For a well deserved cocktail walk across to the E&O. This historic hotel a favourite of Noel Coward is where you can watch the sunset over the Indian ocean.
The following morning we decided a little bit of culture was in order. A personal favourite because of the array of bright colours mixed with rose tiled patterned floors and ceilings, the ‘sleeping budda’ is a must see. For a break from the midday heat we caught a cable car up to the top of Penang Hill for a breathtaking view across the island. Accompanied on our journey by a gang of monkeys- attracted I’m sure by the bling of all my bangles! As our final hours drew near we explored the picture postcard lanes of Penang before finding our way to our own sanctuary - the Gurney Plaza, a huge mall filled with my favourite shoe shops-so good we bought 12 pairs!
A quick stop in Kuala Lumpur before catching our flight home, for yet more shoe shopping, followed by a breathtaking view of the Petronas towers and cocktails at Sky Bar. 3 girls returned home with a suitcase filled with saris, too many shoes and some fantastic memories of 48 hours in paradise.
