Chatting to us next is Brand Copywriter at Oasis, Kathryn. She dishes all about her varied style influences and why confidence is the best accessory, whatever your outfit.
The sun has been on its best behaviour lately. When it’s truly cracking the flags, how do you spend your day?
Well, I’m definitely the pale and interesting type so first on the list is topping up with factor 50 sunscreen! In London I love to spend weekends exploring all the cool little shops and cafes on Stoke Newington Church Street and strolling through Abney Park.
If I have a long weekend and I’m escaping the city it’s got to be a break in the Lake District. There’s nowhere more beautiful come rain or shine.
What’s your go-to sunny day outfit? Any personal summer style essentials?
Gladiator sandals are a perfect mix of glam and comfy for me. A nice smock dress, something floaty and easy to wear in the heat. And sunglasses, I’m obsessed with them and they’re the perfect finishing touch!
When you’re packing for your holidays, what always makes an appearance in your suitcase?
Kaftans, kaftans and more kaftans! They’re so easy to wear, perfect in the heat and can be dressed up or down. I’m also fond of a statement necklace and earrings!
We’re going to make that one a little harder now. You’re stranded on a desert island and you’ve only got space for three items – what are they?
I’m a skincare fanatic so the first two would have to be a really luxurious moisturiser and my trusty factor 50. Third would probably be a great red lipstick!
Summer isn’t summer without a great sunny day playlist! What summer tune is guaranteed to get you dancing?
This is such a tough one to answer but I’m going to plump for Year of the Cat by Al Stewart. An oldie but a goodie!
How would you describe your personal style?
It’s a hybrid of clean cuts, simple silhouettes and little retro finishing touches. And plenty of black.
Whose wardrobe would you love to raid? Any personal style icons?
A weird mix of Dita von Teese and Kanye-era Kim K!
What’s the best piece of style advice you’ve ever been given?
Wear the clothes; don’t let the clothes wear you. This for me translates to letting your personality shine through any outfit and letting confidence become your best accessory, whatever you’re wearing.
Tell us a little bit more about what you do at Oasis.

And what’s your favourite part about working at Oasis?
The warm and friendly atmosphere, the kindness of the people and getting to write about beautiful things every day!
