EXHIBITION SHOWSTUDIO; FASHION REVOLUTION, SOMERSET HOUSE

Fashion Revolution: the award-winning fashion website led by Nick Knight, one of the world's most influential fashion image-makers of our time brings us the new exhibition by SHOWstudio. Since being introduced to the fashion world almost 10 years ago, Nick Knight’s website SHOWstudio.com; has pioneered the most inventive and exciting forms of fashion on the web. These have both been informative and enthused by the fashion revolution of the moment so I had high expectations of what was in store for us at his current exhibition at Somerset House. Through the doors, we were confronted with a staged new world of film, music, art, photography; performance and technology all under the one roof. The exhibition, showing his unique relationship with the fashion world’s most influential style icons, included exclusive behind the scenes footage, allowing insights into the concept and creation of fashion. The exhibition gets you actively involved; answering old fashion telephones and listening to messages from fashion’s biggest models calling from their hotel suite in New York the morning after they made their way down the catwalk for fashion week. Watching an old film based on Brad Pitt’s cover shoot with Vanity Fair in 2004; reciting Nick’s favourite poem whist painting over old photographs. Showcasing over 20 projects from SHOWstudio’s archives, alongside unique footage of films, artworks and live fashion shoots and events especially devised for the exhibition; SHOWstudio is jam-packed with exciting, creative ways of working, well worth a visit.
