There’s just a few days to go until the launch of our brand new store on Tottenham Court Road, but before the big reveal there’s someone we’d like you to meet. You’ve already got to know Sophie and Duncan (the talented twosome behind our nail salon and cafe) so now it’s time to say hello to Karoline and Rita, hair styling extraordinaires who’ll be joining Sophie at Pin & Polish (that’s our in-house hair and nail bar, in case you didn’t know). We asked Karoline to spill her top tips just in time for all those Christmas parties.

Choose a good shampoo
Speak to your hairdresser and ask them to help you find your ideal shampoo. Don’t go for something generic from your local pharmacy, as it’s likely to be unsuitable. It’s worth investing in professional products as the ingredients are better quality.

Shampoo Twice
Most women only shampoo their hair once but if you’ve got lots of product in, it’s worth doing it again. Pollution can be a problem too, so it’s always best to do it twice.

Conditioning is key
Some conditioners don’t allow you to fully condition your hair and scalp and if not conditioning your scalp is like cleansing your face and not moisturising; the sebaceous glands have to work overtime to replace the oils you’ve stripped off making your skin dry. The same happens to your hair, scalp and follicles.  Always comb with a wide tooth comb in the shower too as it helps to distribute evenly. Then leave for a few minutes before rinsing.

Use oils
Use argon oil before you blow dry. It helps to keep split ends and dryness at bay.

Give your locks a treat
Applying a hair mask every two weeks should become part of your hair routine. Prep your hair by shampooing (remember to do it twice) and give it a towel dry so the treatment doesn’t get diluted. Pop your treatment in, comb it through with a wide tooth comb and wrap your hair up in a hot towel, leaving it on until it goes cold.  There’s no need for conditioner when using a hair mask so once you’re done, rinse out the product and you’ll be left with strong and shiny locks.

We’ll be keeping you up to date on all things Tottenham Court Road, but until then stay in the know by following the exciting journey with #OasisTCR.
