On Friday we were lucky enough to be treated to afternoon tea ‘fit for a Princess’ at The Royal Horseguards Hotel to celebrate the launch of the new ‘Grace of Monaco’ film in cinemas this Friday 6th June.

To tie in with the major movie release of ‘Grace of Monaco,’ The Royal Horseguards Hotel have introduced a limited edition ‘Grace of Monaco’ afternoon tea and we can tell you it’s definitely not to be missed! Traditional afternoon tea in The Lounge has been transformed into a glamorous affair fit for a princess with themed Grace of Monaco delicacies. In-house mixologists have especially designed a signature cocktail, “My Nerves Could Use A Drink’, made from rose petal infusion, rose crystals and Laurent-Perrier Rosé Champagne, based on the princess’ fondness of the flower. It’s as yummy as it sounds!

Delicious handmade desserts including a Coral Chocolate Lipstick based on the make up designed for Princess Grace by Estee Lauder and a “Black & White Shot” inspired by Grace’s favourite chocolate milkshake have been especially created by resident chef and chocolatier Joanne Todd. Themed savoury bites such as Princess Grace’s Favourite Mini American Hamburgers will sit alongside a traditional selection of elegant finger sandwiches.

Following our afternoon tea we were treated to a demonstration of ‘how to get the Grace Kelly make up look’ by the wonderful Benefit Cosmetics. Taking inspiration from her neutral tones and classic look, we were shown to emphasise the eyes with neutral tone eye shadows and simple nude lips.

And since we now know how to get the make up look, it was only right to find out how to dress like the Princess herself. Beyond Retro very kindly came in to give us some background into the popular styles of the decade and tell us about the looks that Grace wore. Covering everything from her iconic wedding dress to her more casual trouser looks, we were in awe of the looks she could create through her style.

The Royal Horseguards ‘Grace of Monaco’ Afternoon Tea will run from 2nd – 15th June and will cost £45.00 including the specially created cocktail. The film is released on 6th June in cinemas nationwide.
