The other week we were invited a very special screening of the new ‘Grace of Monaco’ film (aka the brilliant Grace Kelly) detailing the story around her marriage to Rainier III Prince of Monaco and her possible return to acting. Now, here at Oasis we’re a sucker for a pretty dress (take a look at how we were wooed by the Wedding Dresses Exhibit at the V&A recently…) and for this, the film doesn’t disappoint.
With a wardrobe that any girl would be VERY happy to have, Nicole Kidman wows in a series of gowns for society balls and simple suits for her philanthropic work. And with a stellar cast including Robert Lindsay, Tim Roth and Milo Ventimiglia this piece also opened at this years Cannes Film Festival, not a bad feat hey!
The film runs through the story of former Hollywood star and crisis of marriage and identity, during a political dispute between Monaco’s Prince Rainier III and France’s Charles De Gaulle, and a looming French invasion of Monaco in the early 1960s. With beautiful scenery and even a bit of history thrown in, this is the perfect film to take the girls to see.
The film is released on Friday 6th June in cinemas nationwide. Do take a look at the trailer and let us know what you think…
